BAR CHECKLIST

Welcome!

It's great having you in our space! As one of a small number of approved vendors, we have some requests of you in order to keep Ruby clean for the next event. The bar areas are under video surveillance for liability purposes and enforcement of the following policies.

Event Day

  • Please let the venue manager know if you do not find the bar area in a clean condition.
  • TRASH: Remove all trash. Break down boxes and put other trash in trash bags (ask venue manager) before putting them in the dumpster. It is imperative that you break down boxes as we may have multiple events in a row and boxes will fill the dumpster. Rinse garbage cans in the kitchen. (Hose found on both sides of the building - by HVAV and under side deck.). Do not drag trash cans over the hardwood floors..
  • ICE/ DUNP BUCKETS: You may dump ice, but not dump buckets, in a reasonable area outside.
  • COUNTERS / SINKS: Wipe down the counters, shelves and other flat surfaces in the prep area.
  • WALLS:  Wipe off any spills.
  • ICE MACHINE: Do not but bags of ice or anything else in the ice maker. Leave ice scoop on the top of the ice machine, not in it.
  • FLOORS:  Sweep, mop and rinse (using the hose) all work areas.
  • REMOVE: All alcohol must be boxed and removed together with all other items.
  • CHECK-OUT with venue manager before leaving. We appreciate you and look forward to seeing you soon!

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BAR

What if we need something?

If you have any question, ask the venue manager. Need microfiber towels, broom or mop? Where's the bathroom?

Are we allowed to bring in alcohol for the client?

If you are merely picking it up (and the client paid the store for it), then yes. You may not sell alcohol packages or otherwise mark up alcohol at the venues. We are strictly BYO alcohol. We are extremely serious about this.

What are your expectations of the bar?

We expect the bar to be staffed at a ratio of 1 bartender for every 50 guests or so. The bar should be visually appealing and well kept during the event.

What if the beer / wine arrived warm?

We try to prevent that (we talk to all big liquor stores, coordinators, clients, etc.), but if it arrived warm, the only way to address this is to ice drinks in coolers.

What is the courtyard rinsing procedure?

Please rinse the courtyard if there are any spills or grease on the concrete. Ask the venue manager for degreaser as needed.

Can we let guest serve themselves?

No. All alcohol must be served by a bartender. This includes champagne walls and wine at dinner. We are extremely serious about this.

What is the venue policy for inebriated guests?

All bartenders at the venue must have an active ABC card and follow all related liquor laws, including not serving inebried guests. We expect bartenders to manage guest alcohol consumption without the venue managers becoming involved.

Can we leave before the event is over?

If beverage service is over and you've checked out with the venue manager, then yes. Otherwise, we require at least a skeleton crew to bus beverages.

When is last call?

Last call is the earlier of 15 minutes before guest departure time or the time set by the coordinator/ client.

Can we put out a tip jar?

Sorry, but we do not allow tip jars and your catering/ bartending company knows this rule. Tips must come from the client.

Are shots allowed?

No. Shots are not appropriate for events held here. Shots are any drink or mix in any glass designed to down in a single sip. We all know them when we see them.

Are we permitted to serve alcohol to vendors?

No.

Can we use the dressing room?

The dressing room is for client and band use only, sorry.

Are we allowed to take alcohol home or give it to another vendor?

No. Any alcohol not taken by the client must remain at the building.
